This last week was spent with 6 men from two churches for a week of spiritual growth training. We had a great time of fellowship and studying in the Word, but I sure am tired! Pray for these six men as they learn to integrate some of the principles into their busy normal lives.
Early Saturday morning, I traveled to Ingolstadt for the first staff meeting for Summer camp. It was encouraging to see some familiar faces and a few new faces mixed in this team that has dedicated many hours in preparation for the week of camp in August.
This week I’ll be meeting with Joachim and Sepp to further develop our exit strategy, aiming at August 2009. Pray for wisdom as we start to put our ideas onto the calendar to bring this church to independence.
Several jobs are lying on my desk needing attention this week, too, and a few errands need to be run, now that the busy month of February is done.
Thanks for praying for us,

I think I got most of the catch up work done that had been piling up on my desk – and even managed to squeeze in a few birthday parties, too. Now this week will start another round of busy weeks.
We just came home from cantata practice. We’re helping a neighboring church by increasing the size of their choir to sing the John W. Peterson cantata “Hallelujah What a Savior!” on Good Friday. Even though it’s not a big choir, it’s fun to be able to sing in a choir. We’ll be thinking of some people that we can invite to the cantata.
Are you still praying for Gunther? He’s the trainer at the fitness center with whom I’ve had several conversations about the Gospel over the past year. I gave him a book about 50 reasons why Christ died and he told me this week that he started to read just a few pages every night before he goes to bed. He said he has to read slowly and let it sink in. I told him that I’ve been praying that he’ll take the time to read and understand.
The kids have a week of school and then two weeks of Easter vacation. My mom is arriving on Wednesday to spend about three weeks with us. We’re hoping to do some traveling and see some important places beyond the borders of Bavaria while she’s here.
Many of you are praying for Dawn, so I’ll give you a quick update. She started taking thyroid hormone pills about three weeks ago and we’re waiting to see if they kick in. The doctor said it could be a month or longer before she notices any change. This week was pretty hectic, so she’s quite tired and the numbness is stronger today than it has been. There does seem to be a connection between tiredness and numbness. We’re in a waiting and observing mode, so keep praying that we’ll notice when something different comes up!
Thanks for praying for us,

Last week we were enjoying the warm sun of northern Italy and today we have a few inches of fresh snow in our yard. We spent three days in Bergamo and Milan, exploring a different corner of Europe. This week we’ll be in Erlangen for a meeting with our BMM co-workers and will spend a few days up there exploring. It’s great to have vacation to see some of these places without having to travel too far.
We enjoyed singing an Easter Cantata with a neighboring church on Good Friday. We sang John W. Peterson’s “Hallelujah What a Savior!” which has a powerful message of Christ’s suffering on the cross for our sins. I would estimate that there were about 50 people there, some from both churches and a few guests.
Thanks for praying for us,
