Jesus Is Coming
Revelation 22 : 12-21
1. Jesus Repays _ v. 12-13
Great White Throne Judgment
“And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.” Revelation 20:12
Qualifications to Judge
Alpha & Omega _ First & Last _ Beginning & End
“And he [Jesus] is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body of the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.” Colossians 1:17-18
2. Jesus Places _ v. 14-15
Inside the city “those who wash their robes…”
“How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.” Heb. 9:14
Outside the city “Dogs…and those who love and practice falsehood.”
“You love evil more than good, and lying more than speaking what is right.” Ps. 52:3
3. Jesus Paid _ v. 17b
“Take water without price”
“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters;…Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:1,6-7
Water already paid for
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” I Corinthians 6:19-20
4. Jesus' Proclamation _ v. 18-19
