ANSWERING THE WHY
Deuteronomy 6:6-7
“AND THESE WORDS THAT I COMMAND YOU TODAY SHALL BE ON YOUR HEART. YOU SHALL TEACH THEM DILIGENTLY TO YOUR CHILDREN, AND SHALL TALK OF THEM WHEN YOU SIT IN YOUR HOUSE, AND WHEN YOU WALK BY THE WAY, AND WHEN YOU LIE DOWN, AND WHEN YOU RISE.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7
HOW DO YOU ANSWER THE WHY?
With a little TLC:
Truth
Love
Christ
ANSWER WITH TRUTH
“Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” John 17:17
1. The Truth Sets Christians Apart
2. The Truth is God’s Word
“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence.” II Peter 1:3
ANSWER WITH LOVE
“Love is patient and kind;” I Corinthians 13:4
1. Love does not give up
2. Love does not blow up
“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” I John 3:18
ANSWER WITH CHRIST
“Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,” Ephesians 4:15
1. Christ is our goal
2. Christ is our authority
“yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.” I Corinthians 8:6
