The Message of the Cross

1 Corinthians 1:18

 

I. The Peace of the Cross (Colossians 1:18-20)

 

“For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son.” Romans 5:10

 

II. The Power of the Cross (1 Corinthians 1:18)

 

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who  believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16

 

III. The Triumph of the Cross (Colossians 2:15)

 

“He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put  them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.” Colossians 2:15

 

IV. The Boast of the Cross (Galatians 6:14)

 

“Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same  things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the  devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery .” Hebrews 2:14-15
